Silentville...

Its so peaceful at night here. Just this road...no vehicles, no horns, no barks and no pollution.
One long stretch of peace and serenity.
If you listen hard, you can hear the song of the trees...

Bokeh...

My feeble attempt at a Bokeh...i just can't seem to get the settings nor the conditions right...

The Streets That Lead Everywhere...

I think Chandni Chowk is one of those places which you can fall in love with. I mean I did, purely because the place was so enigmatic. The winding alleys which seemed never ending, the infinite number of shops and the ambiance...I got to tell you, there definitely something mystical about the area. Visit the place early in the morning and you can just keep on clicking. Your battery would die but you'd still aimlessly wander, turning every corner as if someone is calling out your name, until you get lost...
I can still hear her...

The Way I See It...

I'm barely 7 inches high off the ground. I'm scared and shaken, hungry and cold and I don't know where to go. I try crossing what seems like a massive divide between me and the other side. I barely manage half way and monstrous objects with glowing yellow eyes, making strange noises rocket past me, almost squishing me out of existence.I somehow reach the other side and with my bones rattling I settle down in an unsettling world. Then I see him...

So I saw this little guy, barely a month old, trying to cross a street. I had to shout a couple of times to avoid people running over him as I ran past the maddening crowd of man and machine to get to him. He lay there shivering, his large liquid eyes trying desperately to find some form of understanding. I approach him cautiously and settle down to his level, well almost. And I just wait for him to accept me. He looks at me with desperate pleading eyes, so I offer him my palm, facing up, inching towards his nose. I want him to know what I'm doing and that I mean no harm. He sniffs it and with surprising agility for a month old hungry pup who has just crossed a nightmare of a traffic, lunges forward right under my legs and curls up into a small ball.

I stay there, motionless, for about half an hour, stroking him all the while. When I realize I can't sit no more, I slowly pick him up(he is asleep) and carry him to a place I know is much more forgiving.

The pack accepted him withing a very short time. Maybe they saw potential in the little guy.
15 powerful adult males and a little pup.
Boy did it look fine....!!

Reincarnation...

I live in a quiet locality. Rarely would you get to see someone walk by after 9. But that lack of traffic, both human and otherwise, brings out a certain flavor, a hidden charm in these streets. Something you'd easily miss during the day. When the night comes alive bathing the streets with liquorice lights, one feels compelled to walk under them, hoping to get drunk by the peace and calm that engulfs you. As the light from the street lamps filters thru, you realize how green the trees are, how dark the tarmac is and how much of all this richness you missed during the day.
There is something magnetic about these roads, that pulls me towards them each night. And I try desperately to capture it the way I seem them...

The Hungry Millions...

Millions die of hunger each day and I sit at home wishfully thinking about how exotic my next meal is going to be...
Who is to blame...??

...And He Kept Staring...

He recognized me the instant he saw me. But as always his footsteps were tentative and he maintained a good 20 feet between us.
I think dogs are given less credit than they are due. This guy knew what a camera was and what it did, what I was doing...He stood absolutely still, dead still!! For a second I thought my camera had hung up, so I looked away from my viewfinder at him directly. Steady as a rock!
When I was done, he stood up and walked away silently. 'The photo session is over', he said.

Life...

And we fight our wars, kill each other, blow up whole cities and pollute the planet. All for for one cause we like to call Peace.
This is Peace...silent and strong...unchanging and unwavering.
This is Life, at its best.

Journey Through Time...

On a recent trip to Punjab, Amritsar, I found that one doesn't need to go to any Scandinavian country to get beautiful landscapes shots. It is Right Here in India. My train journey through Punjab was filled with amazing landscapes, wide open lush green fields and warm sunlight, something right out of a movie.
It was so breath-taking when you stand next to the door and the cool breeze hits you on your face and your eyes start to water as the train rockets thru the scenery. It was so rich, the environment, the feeling...If only I could encapsulate that very moment into a bottle of vivid experience and send it across the country...

The Craving...

The drink I just can't resist. Try how hard, I may, without it life just feels...incomplete...'Sigh!'

The Might Of Thunder...

There was this one specific evening, I was crossing a bridge and...have you ever looked up to see storm clouds in formation? They are so vast, ginormous, I mean they just spread for miles and miles into the horizon. Dark low lying structures just waiting to erupt like some monstrous creation of nature...it scares you doesn't it, but you secretly admire its power too.
I find them menacingly beautiful...makes you wonder how inconsequential a speck of existence we are...

Eternal Sunshine On The Spotless Floor...

The Hall Of Wisdom...

It was more like a family, all working for a common cause, than a corporate no nonsense arena filled with sharp ties and crisp suits...
I miss that place...

The Edge Of Eternity...

I feel my apartment is at the cusp of all great views. A small unassuming place, with the best of cosmic sights.
I happened to look up one evening and had to pic up my jaw from the floor and tie it to my head to keep it from doing so again.
Climbed onto a precarious tank on top a highrise pedestal on the roof of one the buildings to get a clear shot.
Couldn't help but put all views. Took using various in-cam filters...
